The Apples!Starting in June 2007, the amazing apples will pop up around the streets and neighborhoods of Glastonbury. Look for pictures, directions, and fun facts here as the Glastonbury Apples begin to appear. The fiberglass structure of these 4-foot apples are constructed like surfboards, with lightweight cores and covered with a tough automotive-grade fiberglass shell. Local artists design, modify, and paint their own creations on top of the standard fiberglass form, making each one unique. The Glastonbury Apples are mounted on 400-pound concrete slabs to make sure that they don't roll away. Throughout the season, the apples will bring visitors to their sponsor's locations, but in the Fall, they will be auctioned off to support local charities.
